The SkyDrop vario is an innovative GPS vario for paragliders and hang gliders that offers an impressive range of functions despite its ultra-light weight of just 86 grams . With a clearly legible display , a powerful 2000 mAh battery for up to 25 hours of flight time, and state-of-the-art sensor technology, it's the perfect companion for every flying level—from recreational pilots to competitive professionals.

Precision you can rely on

The SkyDrop vario impresses with instant vario response thanks to an intelligent sensor fusion of high-quality motion and baro sensors. In addition to digital, analog, and average vario, it provides acoustic thermal detection and a graphical history for flight analysis.

For even more control, the device has five individually adjustable altimeters (relative, absolute, GPS or QNH mode) and even shows the height above ground (AGL) - based on pre-installed global terrain data .

GPS & navigation for the highest demands

With its integrated GPS module, the SkyDrop displays important flight data such as ground speed, altitude, heading, and glide ratio . Cross-country and competition pilots benefit from waypoint navigation with route optimization , while FAI-compliant IGC and KML tracklogs enable seamless documentation. For maximum safety, the device warns of airspace violations and provides support with G-force measurement and weak thermal detection.

Compatibility & Connectivity

The SkyDrop vario offers seamless Bluetooth connectivity to Android apps such as XCTrack, XCSoar, FlyMe, LK8000, TopHat, Paragliding Dashboard , and others – as well as to iOS via FlySkyHy . A UART interface is also available, for example, for connecting to e-readers or external displays.

Every pilot flies differently – and SkyDrop adapts. The user interface can be customized with several freely configurable screens, layouts, and widgets . An integrated flight log mode , automatic takeoff/landing detection, real-time clock , wind indicator, and many other features make the device a true all-rounder in the air.
